What great article.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tense and danger-filled account of how this "domestic terrorist" prepared for delivering her third child at home while stealthily plotting creative activities for her home-schooled children. I was wracked with suspense at the account of her comrades "building a snowman". One can certainly see through the transparent veil of secrecy and know that "throwing snowballs" is obviously a deviously disguised training regimen that will eventually be utilized by this frightening midget militia someday...perhaps with their OWN CHILDREN!

The author is so clever when she uses code words such as "valentine's day" and "footprints" to disguise what is almost certainly a much more nefarious indoctrination of her homemade 'terrorists in training'.

It would be in everyone's best interest to steer clear of heinous criminals such as these, lest you be drawn in by their apparent innocence and peaceful demeanor.

I homeschooled my four children. Youngest is 19 now. I wasn't comfortable with unschooling completely, although I tried to tailor subjects to their current interests. You will find that both you and they change as far as interests, learning and teaching styles over the years.

But I have been reading Montessori lately and it seems to me that is what is done in their schools - child directed learning. And I have only heard success stories. Human beings are created to learn. It will happen one way or the other!

Oh, by the way, I didn't teach diagramming sentences, although that is something that I loved in school. Or grammar. We just read good books. Great books! I think good writing happens by osmosis or something when exposed to good literature. My daughter, who didn't learn to read well until age 9 because of dyslexia, has been reading beyond college level since age 14. She is an avid reader and writer.

Everybody in politics loves big government because it pays their bills. Unfortunately, no politician wants to make themselves redundant. Maybe somewhere someday there is a politician who will be willing to do that. Maybe this Ron Paul is that guy. But so far, Republicans and Democrats alike want to keep the pieces of pie they've managed to snag for themselves. And they all seem exactly the same when they come to power.

But there's always hope with the Green Party and the Libertarians. I'm registered as a Green but I could equally be registered as a Libertarian. Damn the two-party system.

Oh, this is your sister-in-law, Jessica. I just realized I'm logged in from my book press's new blog.
